POTENTIAL TENANTS - BE AWARE !!!!
Review Date: 6/15/2010
Reviewer: Anonymous

ALL POTENTIAL TENANTS - BE AWARE! I am a new current resident at the Main Street Village Apartments. So far I have lived there for 2 weeks and could not be any sorrier for moving in! FIRST THING: in 2 weeks MY CAR HAS BEEN VANDALIZED 3 TIMES! Can you imagine that? IT HAPPENED IN THE PARKING GARAGE IN THE COMPLEX! The office DID NOTHING besides telling me that it is not their responsibility and they cannot do anything. I even know who did it! IT DID A CURRENT RESIDENT who once parked on my assigned parking lot and I had to report it and that car was towed. I mean I just moved in here 2 weeks ago and do not know anybody in this complex. Who else could be possibly so pissed of? to do such a thing on a constant basis? My car got deeply scratched 3 times in 3 different nights! I asked the management office to install the camera to catch that person and they said that it would cost $3,000 and they will not do it. Well, it is now going to cost me $5,000 to repaint my car. I asked in the office how often they have to tow cars because they are parked on someone's space and they said - VERY OFTEN! So, here is a dilemma for you: you either swallow it (I mean that every time someone parks on your assign parking you just peacefully go to the 5th or 6th floor and park there and do not report this violation and hope not to get a ticket as residents have stickers and are not allowed to park on the guest parking which is on that 5th and 6th floors) or you do report this violation and live in feat to have your car damaged. SECOND THING that happened to me during these 2 weeks - on the day of my move in I noticed a GROWING MOLD on the ceiling in my bathroom and the WATER WAS DRIPPING from the fan vent. We first looked at this apartment 2.5 weeks prior to move in. During our initial overview of the apartment we noticed a quite big water stain on the floor in bathroom and mentioned it to our leasing consultant. He said that it is probably the maintenance people were cleaning something and left it behind. The guy assured us that this place will be like new by the time of our move in. Can you imagine how frustrated I was that at the day of my move in (2.5 weeks later) to see that my bathroom fan is dripping water on the floor non-stop and the mold is already growing on the ceiling! THE MOLD! What if I or my husband were allergic to it!!! IT CAN KILL YOU! I called the office and they quickly send the maintenance people over but how surprised I was when they told me that they HAVE TO OPEN A WALL IN THE BATHROOM, IN THE BEDROOM CLOSET BEHIND THAT ALL (the closet where I already put all my clothe! ) AND POSSIBLY IN BEDROOM ITSELF to fix this problem because there is a leak. They had 2 weeks before the move in date, the apartment was empty and no one checked it before we moved in???? RIDICULOUS!!! They fixed the problem but well.... I had to remove all my stuff from the bathroom, closet and bedroom just right after I put it in place after moving-in in my "NEW" apartment. THIRD THING: NO NOISE ISOLATION AT ALL! I read in reviews about this issue in this complex but thought how bad can it be. I've lived in many different apartments for the past 6 years and I thought it cannot get any worse. Nope, apparently it could. You probably know that this apartment complex is dog friendly. I love dogs myself but if you have one living in the apartment you need to make sure the dog gets enough of physical activities outside and is not running around like crazy inside the apartment! Apparently, my upstairs neighbors have a different opinion on this topic. They have one of those small but heavy dogs and the dog is running non-stop and we HEAR IT ALL. I went upstairs to ask them to keep this noise down a bit but it only worked for 30 minutes. I didn't even bother to call the office - they won't do anything about it anyway.... FOURTH THING: Before signing the lease I asked the office what’s the deal with packages deliveries here and was told that all packages are being delivered in the management office if you are not home and you get a note on the door. Sounds great but this was all BIG FAT LIE !!! UPS left my package at the front door and IT WAS STOLEN! I came home from work, no package, no note - nothing and tracking number showed that they left it at the front door. Call the management office – they couldn’t care less….. ABOUT THE AMENITIES, so far we only had one weekend to really check something out. My husband and I decided to spend some time outside one evening by the fireplace they have. They idea seemed good: fresh air, late evening, a glass of wine, fireplace to keep us warm..... Everything went as planned except the FIREPLACE WAS NOT WORKING! As I said, I did not check anything else.... WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE IS NOT WORKING !!! Well, these were my 3 cents. You won't hear stuff like this from none of the leasing consultant although they all know about what happened to us. If you will be checking this place out any time soon after I post this review, just ask your leasing consultant about the car vandalism incident that happened in MSV. See what you hear back :-) I bet something like "I'm afraid I don't know anything about it. However, I can assure you that MSV is a very safe community". BOTTOM LINE - THIS IS NOT SAFE PLACE TO LIVE AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT AND HIDES THE TRUTH !
