Problems Problems Problems!

I did not believe the reviews before i moved in here. I wish I did. Beware! Here are the problems: 1. Parking/security - I got my well-secured motorcycle stolen. Also, you see various cars up on blocks with stuff missing. You cannot have anyone spend the night with the car. Sometimes, the office people leave early, so if you get home at 5PM on Friday with a friend's car, and the office decided to leave early, youre screwed. No way to get a parking permit, and you WILL GET TOWED. Also, the police are here more often than I like. At least once to calm a psychotic man down. The middle of Irvine, I expect less psycho people I guess. Lots of idiots playing their stupid loud music no matter what time of day or night. In all honesty, not a fault of apartment, but maybe this place attracts idiots. 2. You cannot have satellite dish anywhere which clearly violates the FCC rules. The FCC says that you cannot prevent anyone from receiving a satellite signal. The way the apartment rules are setup, you have to have the dish well within the balcony (which meant you get zero signal because of the long/low overhang. The rules are setup with the assumption that a satellite works like a car antenea. They simply don't understand there is an electronic device orbiting the Earth and we need to have a direct line of sight to have any type of signal. They want us to put it lower than the balcony railing. Idiots. They threatened to fine us if we didn't take it down. My roomate said they were going to evict us...thats hard to believe. Nobody could be that stupid. Cancelling satellite cost me almost $300 for early termination. 3. Stairs are painted a slick light brown paint. Gloss paint and rain = very slick stairs. I fell on my a$$ once and was out of work for 3 days. Also, the lights burn out very often, so the parking lot and stairwells are dark. They don't pay too much attention to these things, but they love putting up ballons all over the damn place everyday! 4. Laundry sucks. The machines are not taken care of well. Dryers don't dry. They also raised the rates. $1.40 to dry! The machine that dispenses the cards to stick into the machine is VERY sensitive. Make sure you have crisp $10 bills. The cards also won't last long, so be prepared to part with $5 per card when it stops working. Warning: The card machine will scan the card to take money from you, but the same card WILL NOT WORK in the machines. I learned the hard way after putting $20 on a card, and had to throw it away. Sometimes, the credit card scanner simply won't work, so if you have no cash to fill up the card, jump in your car to go to store. All that to do laundry. 5. Quality of living. Apartment is relatively quiet, which is important to me. I sleep well, you can't hardly hear the freeway with windows closed. There are a lot of various bugs during winter. The shower head is VERY loud. I think they use cheap generic shower heads. At 6AM, you have this loud shrieking in your ear at any water pressure. The higher the pressure, the louder it gets. You hear this even when your roomate is taking a shower. Bad pipes or something. As mentioned in other reviews, they treat you well when you come in, but as soon as you become a tenant, you are a rodent. I heard several management people yell at kids like dogs to get off the grass. I lived in many places, and for nearly $1700/mo, this is simply an overpriced ghetto. Not recommended. Once lease is up, I am gone.
